Chalet an der Piste is a ski in ski out chalet on the slopes in Kaprun, Austria, with 2 separted apartments. The chalet is spacious and luxurious, so you can enjoy a relaxing holiday. It is possible to enjoy 1 of the luxury apartments with a maximum of 10 persons. If both flats are rented together, up to 20 guests can stay. Of course you can count on the typical winter sports activities, such as skiing and snowboarding during the day. However, there is also ‘night slope’, which allows you to ski in the evening as well. For advanced skiers there are also possibilities for freeride skiing and snowboarding (special off-piste routes called X-rides, guides via Hartweger). There are also several Snowparks with ramps for low and high jumps, kickers, rails and tubes. There is a Pro Snow Park and a halfpipe of Olympic size on the Kitzsteinhorn, where also professionals train.
In addition, other winter sports are also popular. For example: cross-country skiing, ice skating, tobogganing, tour skiing (popular on the Maiskogel), off-piste snowshoeing (special routes), Nordic walking, horseback riding and horse-drawn sleigh rides. Furthermore, the snowbike is on the rise (for rent through our partners). In short, there is something for everyone, even if you don’t like skiing and snowboarding!
If you are into skiing and snowboarding, then here is more detail on the fun activities that the slopes offer. The Ski Movie course in Zell am See allows you to capture your own ski or snowboard skills. When ready, you can then watch this on your phone or other device. Furthermore, you can see how fast you are and compare your time with the others. Also, you can test your dexterity on the Funslope where you go under or over obstacles. Last but not least, the little ones are also considered, such as the Maisi Fantasy Pistes with gentle curves, snowy hills and low ‘jumps’ suitable to their age. This is located on the Maiskogel Kaprun, where your child can experience a lot of excitement anyway!
In addition, next to the various winter sports activities, there are weekly ski and snowboard demonstrations with closing fireworks, special performances by bands, ski and snowboard competitions, car races on ice, hot air balloon rides etc.
