Chalet in Summer
Chalet an der Piste located in Kaprun has a beautiful location. At this location you are already in the middle of the walking area, but at the same time you are within walking distance of the center of Kaprun. In spring, summer and autumn (mid April – late October) the Maiskogel is green and along the Schaufelbergstrasse you can take beautiful walks in the open nature of the mountains. Along the ‘Wiesenwanderung’ you can walk alongside the toboggan run to the village. With one kilometer walk you are then in the heart of Kaprun. Alternatively, you can walk along the paved road to the village center. Also the Arno Road brings you to the village. In addition to mountain hiking, from the chalet you can do both mountain bike routes for beginners to even a pro trail. Every year E-Bikes become more popular with less experienced cyclists, which you can rent at several places. Thanks to the various gondolas in the area, you can easily get to higher areas and go down there on foot or by bike. This is the case in both Zell am See and Kaprun.
During the summer holidays you can enjoy a sunny area from a comfortable chalet with a variety of possibilities to go out. Zell am See Kaprun is a lively area, where both sports and art and culture are often organized. From fireworks shows to aerial acrobatics, from water sports to athletics, from golf to horse riding, from paragliding to gliding and from rafting to tennis. There is something for everyone and always something to do. There are various open air concerts and professional performances by artists. In terms of sports, you can also watch and (participate in) many things, such as the annual triathlon and IronMan event and the annual training camp of Bayer Leverkusen. Many cozy bars, restaurants and shops make it all complete. In spring and autumn you can combine your holiday with skiing on the glacier. A fantastic view all year round!
From Chalet an der Piste you have a magnificent view of the glacier: From the terrace or balcony facing south, you can enjoy the sun to the fullest and have a direct view of the majestic Kitzsteinhorn glacier. From the east side of the chalet you overlook Kaprun. The early birds below you can see the sunrise from here. From the house you can also see the new Tauern Spa Thermal Baths with a multitude of pools, the golf course with a total of 36 holes, the small airport and Lake Zell am See.
Kaprun has a reservoir where you can walk over the dam and look at the high mountain landscape. This reservoir is fed by snow and glacier ice. One of the highlights you should definitely see when visiting Kaprun. At the reservoir there are several mountain climbing possibilities and you can even climb along the wall of the reservoir! Another highlight is the waterfall in the Siegmund Thun Gorge. After a visit to the waterfall you can take a nice walk around the nearby lake. In the village there are also tennis courts and a beach volleyball court for a sporty holiday. There is even a riding school, so you can explore the area on horseback. The Tauern Spa Kaprun offers a number of natural hot spring swimming pools as well as a wide range of saunas. Nice for a day out.
At a 5 to 10 minute drive from Chalet an der Piste are beautiful golf courses with 2x 18 hole courses.
In the summer you are within 10 to 15 minutes by car at the lake of Zell am See where you can swim in the lake or in (indoor) swimming pools with slides, but you can also rent sailing boats, water skiing, windsurfing, kiting, etcetera.
